Using images
FAA logo use
The FAA Logo is the cornerstone of the branding system. It establishes our identity as one FAA. You may not add other logos.
Crop your images when necessary
Minimize any extraneous background space in an image by cropping the image. This helps focus attention on the subject of the photo and reduces the overall size of the image.
Choose photos and graphics carefully
Think through the use of photos and graphics. Use them only if they add value to the content. Every image and graphic should have a reason for being on the page.
- Keep graphics small and keep them simple.
- You may not use animated graphics and/or flashing banners.
- You must use alternate text attributes with all graphics and images.
Know when and how to use thumbnails
Use a thumbnail link for photos and graphics that are too large to display within the content area of a page. Set the links to open the photo or graphic in a JavaScript modal dialog.
