Templates and Branding

FAA Color Palette

The color palette that we use for all FAA websites and applications is based on the FAA logo. For more information, including specific RGB color codes and guidelines for acceptable color contrasts, see:

Public Website

The FAA.gov website represents the FAA brand for all web content that is written for our public audience. With the exception of web based applications, all web content for the public must be published on the FAA.gov website. Each FAA organization has an approval process for gaining access and publishing content on FAA.gov. Qualified developers can register to request development access to FAA.gov. All pages must also have a registered content owner. The content owner must be a federal employee. Contact your web liaison for specific questions about your organizations publishing process.

Public Applications

In general FAA's web based applications are defined as applications that push and/or pull data from a database to display content and or data via a web browser. All web based applications for the public must use the public website application template. You must register yourself and the domain name of your application before you can download the application template package which includes instructions for use, templates and a style guide.

Public Mobile Website & Applications

Templates for public-facing mobile websites are currently being developed by the Web Management Office. Until the templates are complete, please contact the Web Management Office for guidance on branding and proper use of headers and footers.

All mobile websites and applications must be registered with the Web Management Office. Currently, there is no automated process to register a mobile website or application; please contact the Web Management Office to register it manually.

Employee Website

The Employees.FAA.gov (MyFAA) website represents the FAA brand for all web content that is written for FAA Employees. With the exception of web based applications, all web content for FAA Employees must be published on the Employees.FAA.gov website. Each FAA organization has a process for gaining access and publishing content on Employees.FAA.gov. Qualified developers can register to request development access to FAA.gov. All pages must also have a registered content owner. Contact your web liaison for specific questions about your organizations publishing process.

Employee Applications

All web based applications for FAA Employees must use the employee website application template. You must register yourself and the domain name of your application before you can download the application template package which includes instructions for use, templates and a style guide.
